First, you\u2019ll be injected with a contrast that contains a small amount of short-lived radioactive tracer. This injection helps \u201clight up\u201d cells that are the most metabolically active. You\u2019ll also asked to wait in a quiet room for about an hour after the injection so the tracer can move through your body. And when we say quiet, we mean it. Even scrolling through your smartphone is more activity than you can do.
