An estimated 5 million people in the United States have been diagnosed with the disease and that number is expected to increase to 7 million by 2030, according to neurologist Michael Mega, MD of the Center for Cognitive Health in Portland, Oregon. His team works to give patients an early diagnosis of the disease and offers them options like clinical trials.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">There are tests he can run in his office, but for a peek inside the brain, Dr. Mega sends patients to Epic Imaging for a PET\/CT.
